Patient Rights:

  • To obtain high-quality, compassionate and respectful care at all times that is consistent with your personal dignity, cultural, spiritual, religious, and psychosocial beliefs.
  • To know the name of your treating physician, nurse, and assisting healthcare team.
  • To obtain complete and up-to-date information regarding all benefits and risks associated with any medical procedures you may need to undergo, enabling you to provide informed consent and sign the necessary consent forms.
  • To obtain an interpreter or receive information in a manner and language that you understand.
  • To participate (with family, if you prefer) in all aspects of your healthcare, treatment plan and decisions as permitted by Gama Hospital policies and Saudi Arabian laws and regulations.
  • To receive effective diagnosis and treatment for your medical condition without discrimination as to socioeconomic status, as per Gama policy, as well as appropriate assessment and management of your pain in a compassionate and caring way.
  • To accept or refuse the treatment plan proposed by your treating physician, while being informed of the medical consequences and potential risks of refusing treatment and signing a specific form.
  • To have a same-gender person present during sensitive clinical examinations performed by an opposite-gender healthcare provider.
  • To be interviewed and examined in surroundings protecting your confidentiality and privacy of information related to your medical condition and prescribed treatment.
  • To voice your concerns or complaints over your care at any time, and to receive a timely response without influencing your treatment or any other rights.
  • To be informed of the estimated cost of treatment, deductible payment, and any additional payments prior to commencement of the service. If necessary, to sign an agreement for the payment of additional services that are not covered by your insurance policy.
  • In the event that an insurance-approved room is unavailable, a complimentary room upgrade will be provided or you may be referred to another facility.
  • To be informed about insurance approval rejections and your right to request a formal financial appeal through the hospital business center in accordance with applicable regulations in KSA.
  • To be informed of how to contact care providers in case of emergency.

Patient Responsibilities:

  • To ensure compliance with Gama Hospital policies and procedures and with the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
  • To treat staff, patients and visitors with respect, courtesy and dignity.
  • To provide complete and accurate information about your health, medical history and anything that affects it.
  • To attend and cancel appointments in a timely manner.
  • To cooperate with the Gama Hospital management in maintaining a smoke-free environment.
  • To participate in the treatment/care plan and to follow all instructions during treatment and after receiving all necessary information and continuing post discharge.
  • To respect that patients will be treated based on the urgency of their medical needs.
  • To use hospital facilities and equipment safely and to protect hospital property from damage.
