Patient Rights and Responsibilities
Patient Rights:
- Equal access to medical care by efficient specialist team.
- Confidentiality of his medical and social information.
- Prompt and reasonable response to his queries and needs.
- Respect his dignity and privacy.
- Access full information about his doctor and the medical staff attending to his case.
- Access adequate information about his health in language he can understand.
- Know the duration of his treatment, medical alternatives available, the risks involved and his prognosis.
- To refuse treatment after becoming aware of possible risks and consequences, and then sign informed consent.
- To request for a change of physician as per hospital policy.
- To change or transfer to another hospital as per hospital policy.
- Obtain information on the cost of his treatment.
- To know hospital rules & regulations, and it is patent right to complain if necessary.
Patients and companions responsibilities:
- Be thoughtful of other patients and visitors
- Be respectful of those who are caring for them
- Provide complete information about illness and medical history
- Listen to explanation
- Ask question when they do not understand ,and participate in deciding about the treatment
- Attend appointment at the scheduled time
- Inform us if any comments in care provided to allow us to improve the quality of our services.
- Answer questions about current satisfactory case.
- Follow and respect the instructions and policies for the hospital.
- Accept the consequences and possible risks.
- Show respect and due consideration towards the hospital possessions.
- Responding to financial obligations toward the hospital.
