Long Term Care unit in Gama Hospital provides specialized medical care and daily nursing services to patients requiring extended hospitalization with a great focus on the psychological factor of patients and their families which is the core of Long Term Care. Patients with chronic illnesses, advanced aging cases, rehabilitation cases after accidents constitute the main residents of the unit.

A comprehensive range of services is offered to patients once arriving at the unit through a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, clinical nutritionists, licensed social workers, and patient educators.

Medical Team

Our team combines the experiences of internal medicine consultants, specialists, and residents with the addition of Intensive Care Unit ‘ICU’ specialized doctors and general surgeons.

Nursing Services

Nursing care is provided 24-hours a day, 7-days a week. Through comprehensive assessments, nursing promotes quality care and provides services requiring specialized skills. Relevant reports are made to physicians and other staff about changes in the patient’s condition and needs.

Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Services

Every case is assessed by Rheumatology and Physical therapy specialist to personalize the treatment schedule that suits their needs.

Respiratory Therapy

Daily monitoring of cases requiring artificial ventilators.

Social Services           

A Licensed Social Worker meets with the patient and his/her family to assess strengths and needs, to help with coping, and to provide support for the family.

Because the unit is located within the hospital, patients enjoy immediate access to all services and staff provided by Gama Hospital, including
